Loving You! 💞

Love, in its truest sense, is often misunderstood. Society tends to define it narrowly—romantic love, grand gestures, a dozen roses, and gifts wrapped in pink ribbons. But love is so much more. Love is presence. Love is seeing beyond the surface through the lens of compassion. Love is the courage to fully accept what is and still give and receive, even when nothing is guaranteed in return.

This is something St. Valentine understood deeply.

While his story has many versions, one thing is clear—his love was not only about romance but about service, healing, and defying societal norms for what he believed was right.

St. Valentine was a healer and early Christian who was persecuted for performing acts of healing and love that went against society’s expectations at the time. He defied Emperor Claudius II's decree prohibiting marriages for young men, believing that single men made better soldiers. Recognizing the injustice, Valentine continued to perform marriages in secret. Upon discovery, he was imprisoned and ultimately executed for his actions.

During his time on death row, he befriended the jailer's daughter. They formed a beautiful friendship, and he taught her how to read. In the darkest hours of his life, he gave freely to this little girl. Before he was led to his death, he left her a note signed “from your Valentine.” His story is a reminder that love is an action—a force that transcends time, expectation, and circumstance.

So, instead of a story about romantic love, this is a story about how we can more fully accept our situation and give our love, no matter what the circumstances, and how that kind of love echoes beyond us.

This is what I want to remind you of today:

Love is not just about being adored—it’s about how we show up, hold space for ourselves and others, and use our loving presence to rebel with the heart as our fearless leader to heal others as ourselves.

In Feng Shui, the home is a living body that holds our physical bodies—an energetic extension of ourselves. Just as we must tend to our physical body, we must also tend to our physical space. When all five elements (water, fire, earth, metal, and wood) are in balance—expressed through colors, shapes, and symbolism—our nervous systems regulate, allowing us to relax, feel safe, and cultivate love. This is not just romantic love (it supports this, too) but a deep, boundless love that heals and stands as an act of defiance against the world's chaos. True love also includes boundaries, and our space becomes a powerful tool for deepening our sense of safety within.

Let love be your guide today and every day, not only in matters of the heart but also in how you live, give, and show up for yourself and others. Your presence is powerful, and your energy ripples out, impacting those around you in ways you may not even realize. We need you and the powerful energy you bring. By nurturing yourself and your space, you’re offering that love as a gift to the world. Let it ripple out, and let it be remembered.

Loving you always,
Elizabeth 💛
